Our Special Ornaments made from Jeff’s Christmas Stocking stuffed with filling from his favorite pillow.
As we say goodbye to 2014, I can’t help but think of all of those who have loved and lost this past year. My thoughts and prayers are with you as you navigate your way through so many “firsts” without your loved ones.
It’s been almost 5 years for me and my kids now. The time goes by, but the loss is still there, especially during this holiday season. 2010 was a year that shook me to the core, yet gave me strength to keep standing- broke my heart, yet surrounded me with the love to mend it – changed my world forever, yet gave me the wisdom to see how blessed I am.
My hope for you is that you welcome this New Year with a deep appreciation and gratitude for life, strength, courage and love knowing that we’re in this together!
For you…
For all of you who had to say goodbye
And for those who never got the chance…
For all of you who sat at their bedside
And for those who never saw it coming…
For all of you who sent them off to protect us
And for those who didn’t get to welcome them home with a hug…
For all of you who mended fences
And for those who wish you had…
For all of you who sitting next to the empty chair
And for those who found a way to fill it with love…
For all of you who want to crawl into the nearest corner
And for those who have picked yourselves up…
For all of you who couldn’t get out of bed today
And for those who finally did…
For all of you who took a deep breath, put on a smile, and faced the day
And for those who aren’t there yet…
For all of you who are just doing the best you can
And for those who think you’ll never get it together…
Please know – You are not alone.
Keep putting one foot in front of the other.
Allow yourself to smile.
Live life the best you can, and know that there are so many of us who are just trying to do the same.
Wishing you and your families’ peace, love, strength, courage and hope in 2015!
- Sheila
I couldn’t help but respond. Your ornaments mirrored the ones I had made of my late husbands wool green coat:). Thank you for sharing.
